I like simplicity of composition, strong, basic colours and sharp petal rims - it is difficult to render yellow petals sharp doesn't matter film or digital.

Lighting, skin tone and hair blends very well ‘creamy’.

Nice young lady, but her stiff look disturbs me!

I put a darkroom print of this into the Brentwood Photographic Club's Print competition and the Judge said the 'white area' at top left should be cropped out and also much more of the right side making the print an oblong shape , butr of course the wood was not straight -- it was leaning over so the 'lines' would not have been straight -- do you all agree with the Judge ?

refreshing to see natural portraits where the eyes smile as well. I often find studio portraits artificial. This is much better.

My compliments, I like this fresh, realistic and natural portrait much more, as these stiff portraits !

thank you, rick! yes, you’re absolutely right - the wide open effect is a very nice one. I’m still in the learning phases of this lens (got it only a few months ago), but all I can say is that since then I use almost exclusive this lens. it’s a total love affair...

Nice image Debbie, the curves of the road, bridge and trees are so gentle - and a wonderful contrast to the almost totally greyness of the light and tones.

I just printed this one on Hahnemule Photo Rag paper A2 (about 40x60cm) and it is very impressive. I think, I can print it at least twice as big! I start loving my MM :) if you look at a 100% crop, you can count the grass near the cow: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dierktopp/7840129004/in/set-72157627938627378

every photo is an interpretation of what you saw and had in mind, and every photo will be a matter of taste. The clouds where very bright and not so much contrast. The tanks where very dark against the sun. With Nik Silver Efex2 I made a few presets to get the clouds that I want and had in mind while taking the photo. I will post some more pictures with less pushed clouds and hope, that you may like them more, morry :)
