Stephen, thanks so much for all your beautiful and inspiring work. I certainly hope that the UK National Trust or other appropriate organization has an archive of your work. [I have some ancestors from Gloucestershire (Thornbury and Oldbury) and the Bristol-Somerset area who came over here in the old days to VA and MD.

Gloucester Cathedral has a number of links with the USA, many of them going back centuries: http://www.gloucestercathedral.org.uk/index.php?page=american-connections With the 4 July so close, thought that I would post this. Just think, if you had carried on paying your Taxes and forgot about the Representation, you could now still be part of the mess we are currently in. Just a joke, before I get any threathening e-mails!

This has been a place of Christian worship continuously for over 1300 years, since Osric, an Anglo-Saxon prince, founded a religious house here in 678-9 AD. Little is known for certain about the communities which worshipped here or the buildings they used over the next 400 years although it is believed that the Benedictine Rule was introduced here early in the 11th century. The foundations of the present church were laid by Abbot Serlo (1072–1104), later to become the first Dean of Exeter.

Hi, thank you! The original was about 12mp so I had to scale down the pixels quite a bit so it would be accepted by this site. I have a link to my flicker page with this photo :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/matt_macdonald_shots/4467548120/

I love this. For me it's the angle you took this from that does it. Not to mention tones, B&W etc ... Great!
