Beautiful shot - I captured a similar factory (M240 with Zeiss 21mm) but I had to shoot from the other side of the street. I must say I like your composition and camera angle better - also you have a much cooler factory to shoot in Ulsan than I found in LA. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Gip - it is very compressed greyscale but I think it conveys the feeling on the street corner as the sun was setting

The true photographer's talent: the dedication to be when and where it matters, the "eye" to "see", and the skill to execute. A classic!

Steve, for me the superiority of the A7R over my previous Canon 5D II and III is in the lighter weight and smaller form factor. Thanks to which I take my bag with me everywhere every time, including to professional meetings, with no-one the wiser, and it has given me countless keeper shots which I wouldn't have today because I would have left my Canon at home. Superior DR and higher resolution from the A7R are just welcome bonuses. That said, I agree with everything you've written.

I would agree shapencolour. There is far too much importance placed on Megapixels. In reality, even the DxO Ratings are now suspect to me, Too many people just follw these ramblings. Yes, a Such and Such lens or Sensor measures better, but does it really make any difference to the average photographer/ I am sceptical simply becuse in my own personal experience, it really is a small part of ACTUALLY producing a quality image. Thank you for your comment. You might be right. I was not very happy with the in-the-focus background, the iron doors and the pipes, and tried to minimise those distractions.

One last thing Jorge, I have changed the Focusing Screen. When I bought the Camera Body I ordered the Canon Ee-S Focusing Screen to replace the Jack of All Trades one supplied. It is optimised to aid manually focusing lenses with aperatures > f/2.8. A worthwhile upgrade for those without Live View or Focus Peaking IMHO.

To be honest I have come to the conclusion that I can produce just as good images with the Canon EOS 5D Mark I. Pixel Peeping in PP software at 100% does show a bit more detail, but at the end of the day, this is not nearly as important unlees you make very large prints. Most people shown a 329 mm X 483 mm print shot with the two cameras will probably notice very little difference. Cameras and Lenses are a "Man Thing" i.e. having the newest and latest. If you can afford it then indulge yourself, but you can rest assured that if you have not mastered your current Camera System, then just upgrading will be unlikely to lead you to better images. Spend the money on good quality lenses and software. Camera Bodies come and go, lenses can be forever. The soon to be launched 50 Megapixel Canon cameras will be very difficult for Joe Public to use. The more Megapixels, the better your camera technique needs to be. With 50 Megapixels you are essentially buying the equivalent of a Medium Format Camera. These produce superb studio images but were never designed IMHO to be used as Point and Shoot, A tripod would be a minimum requirement. The Canon EOS 5D Mark I is a Classic Camera. If it had a large rear LCD, Live View and Focus Peaking, it would be perfect for me. In the mean time I am more than happy to use it and it is so, so inexpensive to purchase second hand. For Nikon users you can pick up the Nikon D700 at give away prices. The Canon Service Centre in the UK offers an excellent service and will repair pretty much any piece of Canon equipment if there is a fault. I have no experience of Nikon, but I would be surprised if their service was not equally as good.

I hear so many people talking about their Leica Monochrom being the best there is for B&W. However, I have seen some amazing B&W from other cameras which are just as good if not better than what I have seen from Monochrom Leicas. This picture clearly is one example.
