I've been studying lots of old Kodachrome photos lately and thought I would try my hand at capturing some of that feel here. There are a lot of variations on the Kodachrome look but one that I like is the abundance of blue midtones with saturation heavier in the blues and reds. The typical exposure strategy was to protect the highlights which I tried to emulate here as well. I know there are plugins that help with this but I thought I'd try it by hand to understand the look better.
I gave my Hassblad an outing on Saturday.I used Rollei 80s for this shot. I developed the film in Caffenol C-C-L home brew for 50 mins. I agitated for 1 min and then let it stand in a water bath at 20°C for 49 mins.
So here's the thing. The reel moved upwards in the tank during the agitation stage, and the fluid wasn't enough so the top cm of the film wasn't developed. I was going to throw the film. However I decided to scan some of the negs. My daughter thought a couple were "Cool" They have grown on
