Hand held photo of a clock tower building with 135mm APO - the previous image is a 500% crop of the same photo so show the lens performance as well as the limits of resolution of the D800e

Very urban; very colorful. A little motion blur on the guy but it is apparent that the location is covered and likely very dark therefore the longer exposure time with a slightly moving subject (of course that is assuming that the person is the primary subject which I do not think that he is but rather the painting of the face). It is difficult to catch everything on the spur of the moment but I wonder what it would be like if the ISO was bumped up a little and to have increased the kelvin temperature just a tad what the shot would have looked like. For me there is so much to learn and right now I am trying to get my head around White Balance bracketing so as to discover the nuances of the color spectrum.

Thank you both for the comments, the Canadians make fantastic subjects when they visit Tulalip to shop :-)

I often find nude photography repeating itself, this one is an exception, shape and light works perfect here.

I always heard of Horch but never seen one, even in a photo. I see there is "AUTO UNION" on the grille, later DKW, right?

I like the way that the red umbrellas bring the picture to life.

Thanks for the comments - I agree the iPhone images were a real high-water mark but I wanted to give the 135 APO a try and mom was more than willing to sit still for the photos - extra chocolates and flowers for her on mothers day!!

Nice detail work - you need a lot of patience to capture this

I like image. 3 D look of background. It is not one person. Double face like on late Picaso portraits. Thanks.

Thanks Anatoly this is Bonneville Dam completed in the late 1930s as part of the "New Deal" to overcome the Great Depression that saw over 30% of Americans out of work. Over 80 years later it is still an important source of electrical energy in the Northwestern US. Also thanks for the reminder to use live-view with this lens - the focus is very very sensitive and the only way to ensure accuracy is to enlarge the intended subject area in live view and set the focus - which of course means using a tripod
