The Maxxum 7D does not see that lens as a 1.8, Minolta never made AF 1.8 lenses so the camera thinks its a 1.7, its just a software thing, otherwise that lens is perfectly compatible with the Maxxum 7D and all Minolta "A" mount cameras film or digital. I'm Glad you like the Shot!!
Thanks for the comment, I did use the adjustment brush tool in lightroom to decrease the exposure of the sky, as well as make other tweaks (all in lightroom).
Perhaps, but the darker colored trees at the top seem to frame the shot, I might be able to photoshop the red ball and white dog out of the edge of the frame but that might look weird too, Ill mess around with it.

I bought a Zeiss ZA 85 two days ago from another member of this site and he bought it used from a member of this site as well, I look forward to posting interesting photos to share here. My camera for now is a Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D, and the only Zeiss lens in my setup is the 85 but I would like to get the ZA 24mm F2 SSM when Sony releases it.
