The joy of one-touch zoom lenses. Photojournalism as art. Luckily Road & Track magazine would publish photos like this (not this one as Mass didn't finish well) in what I call the Golden Age of F1 photography at the end of an era where you could get close to the car while they were racing. Two-touch zooms cannot do what a one-touch zoom can do.
Taken many years ago in 1973 when I went to Japan -- I used my 1971 bought PENTACON SIX with a British 6inch 'Cooke' lens on a Pentacon Bellows unit to focus -- at the time I had not afforded to buy any 'better' gear ! Film was Kodak Ektachrome 100 ASA -- I sent it to my Agency but they have sent back all my 'Hard Copy' transparencies now as they want only 'Digital' !
Wandering down yet another side street, I spotted this car at the corner and ran to get an image. Since there were quite a crowd lingering around on the other side of the street, I asked someone who responded they are waiting for the bride to appear. Say no more! A bride and a red car! I waited in the gathering crowd of Cubans. Of note, the yellow licence plate designates taxi.
