Norman/Romanesque Abbey - now the parish church. Founded by St Aldhelm in Saxon times. Pavise/treasury containing c1407 manuscript bible and other books, and historical exhibits. Outstanding south porch with its magnificent Norman arch containing carvings depicting Bible stories. . Burial place of King Athelstan (c895-940), the first king of all England. Situated in an attractive and historic hilltop country town.

It was shot on Provia and is a straight scan of the slide really. Didn't touch the saturation at all and only really darkened the background a shade.

Thanks mstudios. This Abbey was built with Bath Stone, which has a distinctive yellow colour. HDR was used to handle some of the difficulties of shooting in an essentially dark part of the ceiling, but with strong light coming through the windows on the right hand side of the image. A Yellow Filter was applied to bring up the detail.

Thanks mstudios. The Vaulted Ceiling is a B&W conversion of a three frame HDR image and made with Nik's Silver Efex Pro. In addition, I applied a Yellow Filter to bring up the detail a bit. The Interior was from a Single Frame. I use HDR a lot as a technique.
