Thanks.
If you have the change, go there. Caño Cristales is a Colombian river located in the Serrania de la Macarena, province of Meta
The blossom of a unique species of plant that lines the river floor called Macarenia clavigera turns a brilliant red.
One of the most beautiful rivers in the world.
Nicely composed and great vantage point - it looks however like there is an exposure artifact just to the left of the steeple on the Georgetown University - is this a composited photo or is the darker region due to something else??? I just ordered a 135mm Sonnar for my NIkon and can hardly wait to shoot with it!! Thanks for posting!!
Torralba - I post processed the image in CS6 using a tilt-shift blur effect to achieve the "miniature" effect. The 35mm Distagon is an amazing lens even when used to shoot through a dirty or scratched commercial airliner window. I do have a 17mm Canon Tilt Shift lens that I use on a 5D MKII but it is difficult (nearly impossible) to use properly without a tripod because of the different tilt and shift settings and the manual focus and exposure overrides necessary to get a true tilt-shift image. Post processing in CS6 provides a good alternative when you are shooting images on final approach to the runway trough your window seat.
I will post a color version of this - you are correct about the resolution of the D800e there is nothing that even comes close -particularly when it is matched up with a Zeiss lens
Great shot. I did a similar shot with an old 1dsII and Zeiss 21mm. When I compare them, it is so clear the D800 is such a superior resolution camera. Amazing. Would loveto se a color version.
