Beautiful composition, nice rendering of dynamic range without being too over the top HDR. But that's just my opinion...... others seem to really like a strong HDR look.
Congratulations David! Great shot. I've hiked in there with 4x5 equipment and it about busted my tail!! I shot too long in the Subway and had to hike out in the dark, got temporarily disoriented (lost), but finally made it out. Was so tired & hungry, drove straight to a Mexican restaurant in Springdale and stuffed myself with food & beer. Hope you rewarded yourself with something similar! Cheers!

Great capture. Love the sun rays!\n\n\n
Thank you, it was a great moment, Julierpass is one of the best place for photography, do you know it?
Thanks you both - if ever visiting Oregon, aim to be at some great POV 's from the east side - aka high desert, or Christmas Valley area ( know for the best sunsets ever, everyday) The previous day the reds were even more intense, but I was far away from any worthy viewing spot.

Stunning light! Looks like you desaturated the colors intentionally?\n\n\n
Hi, thank you. Yes, I desaturate the colours very often to give a deeper effect to my pictures.
Beautiful shot.... the guy taking the selfie adds a modernity to the scene; sort of makes you think how connected we are, or try to be, even in remote locations. Thanks for posting!
Jorge,
I'm currently shooting the D810. Thanks for sharing that link: nice writeup and wonderful images. The bokeh from the 85 is just beautiful! The 85 is surely a big, heavy piece of glass, but getting the very best images one can make is, IMO, more important than weight considerations. I'll bet that you'll love the 50/1.4...fantastic lens!

Doug,
What camera did you shoot this with? I have been shooting the 85 with the A7RII and it's a monster. Yea. I'm getting the 50 next. Looks amazing !
Have a look at this : http://jorgetorralba.com/2015/11/15/zeiss-85mm-milvus-and-sony-a7rii/
Thanks torralba. The Milvus 50/1.4 is an outstanding optic. I recently picked up the 35 too. I'm still getting used to the rubber focus ring on these lenses and they're a bit stiffer than my 'classic' Distagon 21/2.8 but all in all, the Milvus lenses are great. The 85 is on my wish list.
Beautiful shot. How are you liking the milvus? I just got the 35 and 85 today and have not been able to shoot anything yet. But the glass is simply the best ey candy I have seen in a while.
Thanks Philippe and Piotr. Without your support over the years I would probably have stopped posting images to this Website. Thanks for viewing my image and commenting. No Phillipe, this is not my daughter but a model. My local independent camera shop, Clifton Cameras at Dursley, Gloucestershire had an open day with Elinchrom lighting and a model. I was invited along. I have never shot this type of image before. I actually really enjoyed it. The lighting was expensive but affordable and I enjoyed the day. The problem is where do you get people to photograph? Best regards Steve
