I respect your views & opinions, but i think sometimes you must break the rules of conventionality to convey an over exaggerated mood or feel. In this case the close proximity pulls you into his alleged tough exterior. Your in His Space, which not many people are allowed into.
With regards to exposing the same image in B&W & Color.....You don't think this B&W image portrays more of a Bad Ass Character than the Exuberant Color One?! The Bottom Line is that the Client Ordered this image in both & that is what pays the Bills My Friend! The fact that you don't "Understand" or "Agree" with another person's style of work is what makes our Craft so Wonderful! We all see it differently. If you don't understand it...just Ask, then maybe you will! :-)
