Aquilan: I got it fixed. I had misunderstood the buttons on the camera. The C2 button has a little magnifying glass icon beside it. When pushed, it magnifies the image on the LCD. I assumed it did the same thing in the EVF, but that was mapped to the C1 button. When I tried the C2 button, I got an error that no lens was attached, which led me to blame the adapter.

@Torralba, I've signed up on LI.com and AI.com. I posted some test shots already, but will be going to Wales next week for a conference. I hope to get a few hours each day to do some serious shooting over there with the A7r, will post the results when I get back.

RE: Otus, all this talk about the Otus has me really curious, but after all the equipment I got this year, am not going to be able to get one for a little while. Nevertheless, it is nice to see what other people are doing with it. It looks like a really great lens.

Good news, maybe I'll decide to go digital and keep using my five G-series lenses.

WZ, I am just joking! The flange distance on the SONY's A7 / A7R are 17.8mm only! I expect some special SWA Zeiss glasses for these cameras at the next Photokina! Talking to an expert, it seems not to be an problem to design special SWA glasses for this tiny distance either. We'll see!

WZ, behind the Tele-Tessar 4/350mm you must place now a little sign, "this is my A7R camera"! Pls compare the OTUS price with the APO Summicron 2/50mm![/quote]

Greetings Rainer,
I do not understand Your point about A7R sign. I changed my order to A7 because it should works better with my Hologon 8/16 :) Microlens design of A7R fails badly at very edge of sensor, even with Biogons. I am going to sign my photos with name of lens, not with name of camera. I like Sony technology but I am much more charmed by Carl Zeiss lenses.

I got my A7r yesterday. This morning, I had a Leica lens mounted on it with a Novolex adapter. It is a fun camera to shoot, but I am very disappointed that focus magnification does not work with a third party lens attached. I read about a company named Phigment Tech that makes an adapter that allows focus mag to work, but they are out of stock and don't sell to Europe anyway. :(

Another problem is that Adobe products cannot open the AWR raw files from the A7R. This is something I really hate because now it takes four major steps to process all of my pictures, and three different pieces of software (Sony convert, Photoshop, Lightroom, and back to Photoshop.)

Paqart, here You have links for Adobe products support for A7/A7R:

I cannot believe that focus magnification doesn't work with legacy lenses. You did wrong set up :) Mine arrives probably on Tuesday or Wednesday. I need to check it :) Best regards, WZ.

People complain about Otus price but it is half of the Apo Summicron price. I am very happy with the Otus and look forward to trying it on an A7. I just ordered a Nikon F to Sony E adapter which should be here today. Now I just need the A7.

Greetings,
I will stay rather with manual focusing than this digitech autofocus adapter. I am more curious about performance of biogon 2.8/21mm G and ZM version wtih Sony 7R. I need to wait only few days to check it with my own A7R.

Today I bought my first Carl Zeiss FE lens. It is Tele-Tessar 4/350mm FE. I am very curious about it's performance with Sony E-mount cameras too. It need only a little time to be delivered. It should arrive in following few days. It is a pity that Otus is so expensive but I understand that technology and materials costs it's own price.
Best regards, WZ.
