Abstract Cityscape - Nanaimo, BC
Multiple exposure
Maui, Hawaii ~ the wind was blowing at hyper speeds…what a hike!
About as close as I could manage to get....without falling off the dock; what stories could be told..
Photographed in its natural outdoor environment; and later on my computer the spider's beautiful design was enhanced
A scene I have photographed in many conditions; this with longer exposure. The clouds had been moving pretty fast but by the time I arrived here after work it was almost clouded over..
the one on the right is a reflection
Vancouver, BC ~ I found a beautiful antique car parked at Granville Island, with some wonderful light and shadow coming through the trees, just illuminating the back seat. I made a few images until the light shifted
In camera multiple exposure
Long exposure with light painting
During this exposure a cycler with his headlight on approached and passed ~ on the top level, there is a small curving arch of light and some extra light at the top of the frame - these are both from the passing sky train. I thought they gave this exposure a bit more interest. There were a few exposures spoiled from the jarring vibrations of the skytrain, which seemed to come every couple of minutes.
I found a beautiful feather at the pond today.
Light painting, projection and motion during exposure
I asked permission to take his picture by hand gesture and he nodded his acceptance. Vaisakhi Parade, Vancouver
Haleakala Crater, Maui
Abandoned by an unknown fisherman who most likely wasn't able to maintain or simply couldn't afford maintenance. Fraser River, River Road, Richmond, BC
Natural side lighting
I don't chase after dragonflies, but he flew right into my line of vision
Beautiful luxury in Coal Harbour, Vancouver, BC
A dragon boat team is motivated, soothed and timed by its drummer
False Creek, Vancouver, BC
Best viewed in full zoom.
I Wanted to post at least one more image from this series.
Composite of 2 of my own images
The feather was propped up on a branch of a bush and shot into the light to give an interesting background and some backlighting. The backlighting created some of beautiful iridescence in the feather.
Intentional camera movement
False Creek Vancouver reflections - if I were a painter.....
My grandparents came to Canada from Germany just before WWI to escape the political tensions there. He was a musician and a teacher there but gave that up - to be "free" in Canada. I inherited his accordion, one of the many instruments he played. The bible was my aunt's, given to her by my grandfather- a treasure handed to me when my dad passed away. I found the beautiful Easter Card and the sheets of Christmas Music tucked away in the bible.
Havana, Cuba. Ureka! I went around the block and found a space where the fence was sagging enough and the ground a bit higher - just had to crop a bit at the bottom. The graphics of the buildings combined those wonderful old engines was fascinating to me. If, somehow, I could have got access into that yard, it would have been a couple of hours of fun...at least. (the edge of the Capitol building is still visible at the right)
I have always loved abstracts, lines and shapes. This is an impressionist merging of the elements of water and man. It was late afternoon, so I went to f22 to get the maximum flow of the gentle ebb and flow and the impression of depth
On board the ferry, the mist swirling in and out as we sail pass one of the smaller coastal islands, en route to Vancouver Island
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Fraser River, Steveston harbour, BC<br />
I gained access to the working dock where this old fishing barge was moored. I got down on my knees for a water level view to capture the golden depth of reflection and water and also give a glimpse of the sky and harbour beyond.
Near the painted glass shards I found a very wet and weathered piece of wood. I carried the shards of glass back to my car for future, but the piece of wood was too large.
Science World reflections - Olympic Village on False Creek, Vancouver, BC
Really like to have been closer and got more of this reflection, but the kayaks were fenced off ~sometime things are for a reason
Spanish Banks, Vancouver, BC
