@aquilan: He is one of a very few live soldiers of World War II. In our country people like he are Heroes. It is a miracle that there are live eyewitnesses who could tell a truth about real war and he is one of them. He is probably about 90 years and it was very pleasant to see he is dancing with young woman during celebration of Victory Day.

Sincerely main character of this photo scares me :( I could image it is a positive image with happy people within but this ancient uniform brings memories of previous times...

Very pretty shot. Not easy to pull off an image like this so it doesn't look like every other landscape.

Fantastic portrait. Why not trying it square: cutting part of the window would give more importance to your wife?!?

The scale of this place is difficult to grasp... this photo was taken while standing at 15,000 feet with all of the peaks well over 20,000 feet or more than twice as tall as Oregon's Mt. Hood. Some of these peaks are virtually unclimbable because of the degree of technical climbing and the high altitude makes physical effort very difficult

It was taken at about 4,500 meters/15,000 ft elevation in Nepal after the moon had set and 2 hours before sunrise - very clear viewing conditions with minimal pollution and haze - it would be a good place to site and observatory if there was a road to get there!

It is the Himalayas - in the Khumbu Valley of Nepal on the way to Mt. Everest base camp - it was an amazing 18 day trek among the most majestic mountains on Earth!
