Thanks for the link, Steve, it looks like some interesting reading. I sure hope the funding doesn't get cut off, the parks are one of the most important things the U.S. govt has done and the research programs are essential to keeping the environment safe for both the native species and the visitors.
Thanks Carol and Steve! I agree, Glacier is an amazing place, we had a real hard time leaving, I was there when I was a kid and it felt like I had come home.
I bet that's an interesting program to be involved in, we saw a black bear while we were there but no grizzlies, although apparently one visited our campground when we were out. I hope she packed lots of warm clothes if she's staying until November. brrrrr!
Great shot. My daughter is actually involved with a Grizzly Bear population study in the backcountry and has been there since the beginning of June. She comes home in November. Seen lots of shots and it is really special. Steve
