Last Acquisition...(please don't mind that I bought the Golden Terraces)
Notes
I am encharmed with this lens. As You mind to see, it is very sharp wide open. It has amazing color rendering and legendary bokeh..I hope I a few more photos with this lens.
(Why Biotar 2/58 is discontinued but eg.Sonnar 1.5/50 is still manufactured? I know that there is close construction like ZM Planar 2/50, but it is shorter than short-tele like 58-60mm (87-90 eqv.) and more symmetrically designed..moreover, it still doesn't have that kind of bokeh). IMHO Biotar 2/58 is best Carl Zeiss Fifthy for Nex-7
As far as I know, it depends on line. ZF-II/ZE/ZS is made mainly by Cosina, only most priced models like Distagon 2.8/15 ZF-II/ZE are made in Germany (Zeiss Oberkochen facility). Other example was, just discontinued, ZM Sonnar 2/85, which bears name of "Made in Germany". ZA lenses are manufactured at Japanese Sony Facilities (with Zeiss Quality Management and half of materials is delivered by Zeiss AG).
Is Zeiss manufacturing lenses for SLR/SLT/mirrorless, or is it licensing others to do so? Such as Cosina (for Nikon and Canon, ZF.2 and ZE respectively) or Sony, aka Minolta (ZA lenses)?
