Wonderful composition. The colour and detail perfect. The mushroom at the bottom really complements the green foliage and balances everything.
And Rick answered my question - they actually are edible!

You must be having a great Mushroom season over there this year. This is a very sharp photograph of what I am quite sure is a Polyporus Squamosus - also "Pheasant's Back Polypore". The tender edges can be pickled or saute'ed. Enjoy!
