Shot on the Snowshill Estate, Gloucestershire, England. This is a National Trust owned and managed property. Charles Paget Wade bought the derelict Manor and totally refurbished it to display his enormous collection of "things". Just wonderful!
This photograph is right at the limits of unguided fixed tripod imaging of astronomical subjects. I have been intrigued with other's photos that use "stacking" of multiple exposures to build detail in the Milky Way but I wanted to take a run at shooting it with a single pass shot in dark skies without an equatorial mount. This is the result.
