Southern Milkyway

Yes, I agree. Stopping down fast primes a stop or two is the norm. The 50 Macro Planner is quite good in that respect probably due to being a slower lens design.

For astrophotography with DSLRs the problem for me is the lack of 'red' which is filtered out by the IR filter. Canon have a partial solution to this with their D60a. Of course serious astrophotographers use dedicated monochrome astro CCD cameras and filters.

I have a permanently mounted telescope on a large equatorial mount and living down here dont really have the light pollution issues. Plenty of cloud though.

Doing it hard

I wanted to put my camera down and help him but in the end I took the shot. In the narrow streets of the old part of Istanbul nearly all the goods are delivered this way.

Thanks, it was the middle of the day and the colour wasn't great so B&W seemed a good option.

The 21mm ZE was perfect for the job. My Canon 16-35 f2.8 rarely gets used these days.

Thanks Guys,
I've made a A2 print with my Epson 3800 and it looks great. I also shot the sceen with my Canon 24-105mm. I must say I prefer the Zeiss shot. The makro planar is amazing for landscape shooting.

I must admit I am very pleased with th 50mm MP. It is very sharp even at f2 and has amazing contrast.

It is the best 50mm I have owned.

Waterfall
Yes, we are getting plenty of rain over here in Dunedin, NZ. We are currenly on flood alert with rivers breaking their banks.

Where I took the waterfall image the annual rainfall is around 8000mm.
