Well, I guess my meaning wasn't clear to you. That only one flower is in focus was/is intentional, just like some of Claude Monet's paintings that are "fuzzy" in parts.

Actually, that was with the ZP 35 f:1.4, which I rarely shoto wide open. I could have shot it with the Otus 55 wide open, and THAT would have been shallow DOF...:-) But I felt I needed some background for the shot to work.

Steve, for me the superiority of the A7R over my previous Canon 5D II and III is in the lighter weight and smaller form factor. Thanks to which I take my bag with me everywhere every time, including to professional meetings, with no-one the wiser, and it has given me countless keeper shots which I wouldn't have today because I would have left my Canon at home. Superior DR and higher resolution from the A7R are just welcome bonuses. That said, I agree with everything you've written.

Donat, it is not perfect. It vignettes quite a bit wide open, it has some CA wide open, and, on the A7R, corners are not perfect wide open. But it has such qualities that Lloyd Chambers calls it the best lens ever for Leica M. Even compared to my new Otus 55, its art of colouring is peerless. I call my Otus Bertha, after Big Bertha, the greatest cannon that ever was, because that is how it feels, the biggest and baddest. And I call my ZM Audrey, for Audrey Hepburn: wonderful grace and elegance. So good to have both...

I find it a great, really great lens. It set new standards for me, until I tried out the Otus 55, which I should be getting any day now. Having both in my bag will be fantastic
