Spent my British Government Pension 'Lump Sum' in 2002 on a HASSELBLAD outfit after deciding for about 40 years whether to take the plunge ! I did a few Weddings and just about got my money back before all the work stopped, as nobody wants 'FILM' Photos any more ! I got the Pentaprism viewfinder free with the basic 501CM and 80mm f2.8 CFE Planar T* lens and A12 back, then added a 50mm f4 CFi Distagon T* and 180mm f4 Cfi Sonnar T* later, with two A16 and one A24 back - the A12 back leaked light as did the
Two lovely Rolleiflexes from the 1960's era. On the LEFT is a 3.5F Planar Mk III with built-in exposure meter. On the RIGHT is my latest aquisition FREE from a Camera Club member, the 3.5E Planar. I have it fitted with the Rollei pentaprism . The winder was jammed so it cost me £65 for repair, new cogs etc and a CLA . They have the 75mm f3.5 Zeiss Planar lens in Synchro-Compur shutter speeded 1-1/500th sec.+ X and M flash settings, delayed action. The viewfinders are removable.
My ROLLEIFLEX 2.8F with Zeiss PLANAR -- I bought it years ago from a Camera Club member who had bought it from another man who never used it much . I paid £250-00 then found photos were out of focus and the shutter was faulty -- the Viewing Screen had been put in upside down -- I took it to the Rollei Service Center in London ( when it WAS there !) and it cost me £ 50-00 for a CLA so the Club Member let me off the £50-00 fee so I got it for £200-00 in the end and did many Weddings with it .
My'Gift' WERRAMATIC about 1966, East German made, interchangeable lens elements, 'Prestor' shutter to 1/750th ,'X' and 'M' flash synch, coupled rangefinder, built-in exposure meter, 50mm f2.8 Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar lens-- I have put several photos taken with this Camera on this site.
This is my 'Gift' Zeiss Ikon 'CONTINA' with a 45mm f2.8 Carl Zeiss TESSAR lens, a folding 35mm camera, Synchro-Compur shutter to 1.500th, 'X' and 'M' flash synchronisation and non-coupled Rangefinder -- I have put several photos taken with this camera here on this site.
This is my 1971 bought East German 'Pentacon Six' with the Carl Zeiss 'Jena' 80mm f2.8 Biometar and the extension tube set I use for Close-ups. I can get 13 frames from a 120 film and 27 frames from a 220 film ! I do not like the very slow 1/20th flash synch speed though.
This is my FREE CONTAX RTS II Quartz which came out in 1982 -- it came with the Real Time Winder W-3 shown and a Real Time Flash 540 Hammerhead that I got working after cleaning up -- I thought I was going to be BLOWN UP when I switched on a pressed the 'TEST' button as there was a huge @CRACK' as the flash discharged for the first time in about 20 years !! I have taken some 'Test' photos with THIS Planar but not any 'Prizewinners' yet .
