From my sky train series ~ the overhead rumble and indirect visual of the train gave me a very strong sense of power. The sky was just fading to twilight, with those heavy clouds behind me now.
Sunday, this part of Vancouver is pretty quiet. I scrambled over a broken frost fence into a large industrial wasteland. Lots of huge puddles collected from the recent rainfall and the wonderful skies made for some great opportunities.
Skytrain crossing between Richmond and Vancouver, BC - Had my tripod at a very awkward position to avoid a fence on the ground. It was so high, I could just barely see the image on my tip toes through the live view. lol! the disadvantage of being short :)
Always I am overwhelmed by clouds and architecture as elements. This seemed like the wings of an avenging angel reaching out to the skyscaper. I was hoping for it to move a bit closer, but it broke up as it moved across the sky. The b&w conversion and subsequent tinting was done in camera raw. And Steve, I could have used your wide angle here!
Seeing this fabulous sunset glinting on the windows from afar, I desperately ran with all my gear and was only able to make a couple of images before the moment slipped away.
Young family waiting for the Sea bus - Granville Island, Vancouver, BC, Canada
The way the timeless family roles were playing out on this scene really appealed to me.
From my Vancouver Style - night series A couple of small boats going by created the horizontal lines, but also gave some shapes to the wonderful reflections
A little blues, jazz kind of feel; dark but with feeling.... False Creek, Cambie Street Bridge, Vancouver, BC - view in FULL ZOOM MODE to feel the blues :)
This young Vancouver family jogging at Olympic Village presented an "idyllic" scene. I smiled, waved and pointed at my camera. They smiled and acknowledged it was ok to take.
I think its only an air conditioner but I love all that gleaming metal and clean colour. Taken early morning but almost too late - shooting into the sun a bit, but was able to recover the brights adequately.
A million abstracts there, I may very well return for.
