I have the peleng8.com-C/Y-EOS adapter with dandelion-chip. and there is an instruction. It needs 1/3 EV setting during programming. EOS5(analogue) has only 1/2 EV. What to do? Is there somewhere a better manual? Their english is not uptodate. -- http://3dreal.zeissimages.com |

Many of these chipped or un-chipped adapters are made in China, but also made in Ukraine! Its hard to say, which one's are better and more precise. I guess, the price makes the only guarantee. Cheap buys are generally not the best. -- http://z-enthusiast.zeissimages.com |

I am using 11 of my C/Y lenses with 3 adapters, with electronical contacts. Two of them, missing two contacts which the affect, that the camera is not shot off after the set time. If you forget to switch off the camera, the accu/battery runs empty within 24 hours. The adapter from HOADA, which costs a little more, don't give me this inconvinence! So, I am going to buy one or two adapters from HAODA soon. -- http://z-enthusiast.zeissimages.com |

I use a simple fotodiox adapter (no chip) for my Contax lenses to a Canon body. (I still shoot film also through my Contax bodies.)
http://www.fotodiox.com/ For my Hasselblad lenses, I use a Hasselblad to Contax adapter, then to fotodiox adapter, to Canon body. (I still shoot film through my Hasselblad bodies.)
In the digital setup with the Canon body, I shoot using aperture priority/camera metering to control my depth of field. If there are some exposure issues I have not taken care of while shooting, I can deal with them using Canon software and CS4 in the processing phase.
A friend of mine with a busy portrait studio shoots with the latest Canon 1D IV and sometimes uses a Contax 80-200. Large display prints I've seen are excellent and an 'eye-opener" as regards this lens and set up.

I use some Hasselblad and Mamiya lenses with a Mirex tilt+shift adaptor, live view gives you the correct exposure no questions asked, unlike the normal exposure meter. It can expose to the right if there is headroom, which is a boon if you shoot RAW. I am afraid of chipped adapters, I hear they can damage your camera if they are not top notch. -- http://lollus.zeissimages.com |

I use Contax lenses with chipped adapters that make the lens "look like" a ZE (or other) lens with electronic interface in Av mode. So no problem at all, except the need to stop down. Or maybe I didn't understand your question. -- http://philber.zeissimages.com |

I use Contax lenses (with cheap chinese AF confirm adapters only) in AE mode +matrix metering and compensate exposures basing on colour histogram, subject, lighting and dominating colours.
Canon cameras require different exposure compensations i.e. for 5D2 and 550D it is usually -1EV to -2EV whereas 7D requires -2EV to -3EV.
