There's a lovely story attached to this place.

I was being a pain to my Vermont cousin as we were scouting locations for me to photograph. Nothing he took me to was up to my demands.

We got lost in a remote area at which point he got upset. I told him from experience that the most fun in my life was "taking the road not taken" (poet: Robert Frost), lecturing him as I am 20 years his senior. Then we stumbled upon this scene. We both looked at one another in amazement. There was no one there. It was magnificent. And for the next 2 hours we photographed with only the sound of birdsong and our own breathing.
A magical, ethereal experience.

Some things are just meant to be.
